Garlic

It is so cold today...

These are rockets.



These sprout are garlic.


Last year, I had planted garlic.
But I couldn't harvest them at all.

I hope I'll harvest them this year.

Deeper Underground

I still have a cold...

Today will be colder by the weather news.

I couldn't sleep well because of fever and congested nose.

When I have a cold, I often eat hot dishes.
I ate Japanese hot noodle.



My mother worried about me and she talked I had to eat some pork.

So I ate the hot noodle of pork and vegetables.

As I couldn't sleep at all of the heavy cold, I enjoyed to watching videos of Jamiroquai.

I think my favorite song is "Deeper Underground".



When I went to the concerts, I was so excited.

I would like to go to concerts of Jamiroquai at soon.

Rock Dust Light Star

The summer ended and it is fall in Japan. A few days ago, we had wear jackets in mornings and nights. By the way, I am so happy.

Because my favorite musician Jamiroquai's CD will be released in Nov.



I will buy it.

I am so glad!!!

I hope I'll go to their concerts in Japan.

The fried noodles "Yakisoba"

Recently, I often harvest Japanese vegetable "Komatsuna".





A few days ago, I made Japanese dish "Yakisoba" after picking up vegetables in my balcony.



We often boiled komatsuna or spinach with soy sauce.

We call it "ohitashi".

This is ohitashi of komatsuna.



By the way, I have to prepare to move my apartment. Oh, I have many books and etc.

The gift and Korean vegetable dish "Namul"

Finally, I harvested Japanese autumn's vegetable "Komatsuna".



So I made Korean vegetable dish "Namul".



I like it but I made it for the first time.
The recipe is so simple.
So I will make it again.

Last week, my best friend sent me a gift.

This is one of them.



She is living in the place where is close to a beautiful ocean.
The wonderful fishes and vegetables, fruits are famous.

I don't meet her. But we can communication by the net.

I have a favorite novel 10 years ago.
The place where she is living is written.

I would like to go to there before we knew each other.

Someday, I would like to go to there. Of course, I would like to meet her if it is possible.

Katsuo no Tataki

I harvested some lettuce.

Then I made a summer roll of lettuce and natto.



This is Japanese vegetables "Komatsuna".
I will harvest them soon.



In the autumn, we can delicious fishes.
For example, salmon, pacific saury "Sanma" etc.

However, it is difficult to eat pacific saury "Sanma" this year.

According to news, poor pacific saury "Sanma" is a poor catch of fish this year because of heavy hot summer.

The price is higher and the taste isn't good.

But Skipjack tuna "Katsuo" is a rich catch of fish.

So I bought it in the super market.
This is sashim of Skipjack tuna "Katsuo" .



We call it "Katsuo no tataki".

It was so delicious.

The aroma of happy

On the last weekend, I watched Japanese interesting movie "Shiawase no kaori".

The title means aroma of happy.

The story is about one young single mother and Chinese who is living in Japan.

Old Chinese runs a small Chinese restaurant in Japan.
Many people go to there because tastes of his dishes are so good.
One young woman decided to learn Chinese dishes.

After watching this movie, I felt happiness.

I could enjoy a wonderful movie.

Then I wanted to Chinese dishes at once.
Although I don't often eat Chinese food.

So I cooked Chinese dish.

This is green Pepper with oyster sauce .

Madagascar Periwinkle and full moon

I can still see Madagascar Periwinkle in my balcony.


By the way, Japanese weather is so strange.

It was too hot every day in this summer.
And it wasn't rain at all...

A few days, the temprature became cold.

This is Japanese vegetable "Mizuna". I will be able to harvest them soon.



On September 22, I made Japanese dish boiled food "Nimono".



Because we could see the full moon. My friend told me it is Japanese custom that we eat "Nimono" while enjoy to seeing the moon.

Ingredient of Nimono are taro , carrots, chicken.
Especially, taro is autumn's vegetable.
It means we hope we'll harvest vegetables.

Tsukimi (night of the full moon on August 15 and September 13 of the lunar calendar); the days for "moon-gazing." Decorations of Japanese pampas grass are used, and moon-offerings of sake and dango (a kind of dumpling) are made as the people gaze at the moon, enjoying the autumn evening.

I could see the full moon. I was so satisfied.

Carrot and turnip

Yesterday, it was too hot. However, today's weather is simmilar to the fall.
My balcony became to autumn garden.

This is Mizuna.

I had planted seeds of carrots.





Leaves of carrots are cute.

This is my favorite vegetable "turnip".
I hope they will be bigger.

Sushi of Mackerel "sabazushi"

I had planted seeds of Japanese vegetable "komatuna". I'll harvest them soon.



This is grilled fish "Mackerel" of sushi.
It is called "Sabazushi" in Japan.



I like it.

I bought it because my work is busy.

It was so delicious.

Autumn's fish "salmon"

This summer is so hot.

I started to plant autumun's vegetabales.

I planted a potato. Now , the sprout of it is bigger.



Then I planted seeds of Japanese vegetable "radish's leaves".



Matsutake mushrooms and salmons,pacific saury "Sanma" are one of the autumn flavors that represent Japan.

Tonight, I ate salmon. It was so delicious.



The news said it is so difficult to eat pacific saury "Sanma" because of heavy summer of Japan. I am sorry. But I like to salmon. So I will eat salmons instead of pacific saury "Sanma".

Turnip

I had planted seeds of Tarnips.



I found some sprouts. I hope I'll harvest them. My garden in the balcony was changed to autumn. But the weather of Japan is still summer. --- カブの種まきをして、カブのいくつか芽を見つけました。

私はカブの収穫を願っています。

バルコニーの私の庭は秋に変更されました。
しかし、日本の天気はまだ夏です。

今日の夕食は海老です

Autumun vegetable

I harvested leaves of Basil.Then I cooked chips of Basil's flavor.



I have planted autumn vegetables "turnip" and I found some sprout!!!

I will plant other seeds soon.

Rock Dust Light Star

Japan is is experiencing record high temperatures.
Many people keep to run air-conditioners while sleeping because it is so hot!
The weather has damaged agricultural products and is expected to decrease crops of vegetables as well.

I am suffering from the summer heat.
I don't want to eat anything now...

Yesterday, I read about the news of Jamiroquai.
Finally, the CD of Jamiroquai will be released in Nov of this year!!!
I am so happy.

If they come to Japan, I will try to go to their concerts.

I want to listen to their new songs!!!!

Steak and radish

I harvested a radish in my balcony.


I will prepare to plant autumn's vegetables.

In the summer vacation, my family got on Japanese express train "Shinkansen" to meet our relatives.

Then we came back to my parent's home.

My father wanted to eat steak.
So we went to have a dinner.



The meat was so delicious!!!

My mother made a salad by using freezing tomatoes.



They were so surprised because I harvested many tomatoes.
I am so happy.

Bon_Festival and Japanese garden

My summer vacation was over. I could enjoy to spend a time with my parent and my relatives this year.

By the way, I met my grand father.
He is in the hospital.
I hope he will be doing well.

Japanese custom "bon festival" is held to welcome back the spirits of the dead.

It is believed the spirits return to their families during the festival. People visit their relatives' graves to pray and make offerings of flowers and incense.

During the period, many people receive company holidays.
Expressways and trains are often crowded with people returning to their hometowns.
However, the number of companies giving their employees time off is decreasing.

After meeting my relative, we had a lunch at my uncle's house.
In the past, my grand mother and my grand father lived in it.
When I was a child, I often went to there.

It was my important place.

I spend some time in the garden of his house.



In the past, I often played in there.

I will write about my summer vacation later.

Summer vacation

This summer is so hot. By the way, I often harvest tomatoes.

Next month, I'll go to my parent's home to spend a time with my family during summer vacation.
I'll take frozen tomatoes to my father because my father likes tomatoes. I hope he'll like them.

After summer vacation, I have to prepare autumn's vegetables.

Basil and extreme heat

I harvested tomatoes again.

I ate dried fish "Himono" as dinner.


It is so popular to eat dried fish with grated Daikon "daikon oroshi".

Of course, I like grated Daikon.
So I often eat fish and meats with grated Daikon.

By the way, it is the hottest summer in 2 years according to news.

Yesterday, tokyo was so hot. News said that some people died of heatstroke during the heat wave.

I like summer. However, I hope autumn will come soon.
I kept to run the air conditioner while sleeping because it was so hot in the night...

Of course, I will do run the air conditioner tonight.

Japanese bean "Edamame"

Todady, I harvested 3 tomatoes and lettuce.
Recently,

I ate a salad of lettuce and boiled chicken.

This morning, I found this.


This is green soybeanEdamame. It is so cute! When I found it, I laugh.
In Japan, it is popular to eat boiled green soybeans "Edamame" while drinking beer in the summer.

The harvest festival of grape tomato

I planted tomatoes in my balcony in May. They are so bigger.





In my balcony , there are 4 seedling of tomatoes. I hope I'll harvest many tomatoes this summer. I hervested tomatoes.



I am so happy because I like tomatoes!!!

So I made a pizza of tomato and basil.



This is a plants of lettuce. I often harvest lettuce in the morning.



Today, I harvested radishes.



It is so hard to water all of plans 2 times a day for me. Sometimes, I would like to stay at home because the temparature is so hight. But is is so fun to grow plants. So I'll keep to grown plants in my balcony.

Japanese cold noodle "Somen"

It is a boiling hot day in Japan. I have to water all of plants. A few days ago, I harvested lettuce. Then I ate summer roll of lettuce.



I ate Japanese cold noodle "Soumen" because it was so hot!!!


We often eat Japanese cold noodle "Somen" in the summer.I think there's nothing like Japanese vermicelli during the summer.
