Is he a comedian or wonderful movie director for you?

You may know Takeshi Kitano as the movie director. Of course, it is true.

But Japanese think that he is a comedian. Since I was a child, his TV programs were funny and popular. In the past, he made a scene and be arrested. After then, he couldn't show on TV for about a few years.

Anyway, his TV programs are still broadcasted.

What do you think?

Because French don't know he is a comedian!!! When I heard that, I was so surprised at all.

Is he a comedian or movie director for you?

Oi (again! hahaha)!

Well, I met Mr. Kitano as being a drama director (have you watched "Dolls"?), but a few months ago, a brazilian cable tv broadcasted lots of movies from him.

You already had told me about his career as a comedian, but I was astonished about how bizarre his first comedy movies were!!!! hahahaha

Hi Reona
well in the U.K. Takeshi Kitano is known a little but only by movie fans . He is called Beat Takeshi.
His movies " Violent Cop" , "Dolls ", "Boiling Point" , "Battle Royal" and the remake of "Zatoichi" are all available. He is thought of as an action movie maker and people do not know that in Japan he is a comedian. Although , I think many parts of the zatoichi movie are funny. Also I saw the movie "Kikujiro" which also seemed like a funny movie.
Actually I guess he is the most well known modern Japanese movie actor and director in the U.K. only older directors like Kurosawa and Ozu are better known.
take care
Mike

Thank you for the comment!

I think you may watch his TV program if you look for.

For example,
- Take-chanman

Thank you for the comment!

You know very well!!

I love zatoichi too!
"Kikujiro" is nice.
I heard that he is a father of Takeshi.

He wrote about his family and TV drama made by the his books!

Takeshi kitano was a hero when I was a child.
He called "Take-chanman".
But parents didn't allow to watch TV because his TV were radical.
They were similar to UK's comedy!
hahaha

By the way, do you know "Sanma"?
He is a comedian too!
He was shown on TV with Takeshi together!
