Yes, I watched the game of England vs Sweden after I got up at 3:30 am.
The game played to a draw but I think the game was good!!!
(Unfortunately, my bet was wrong. I guessed that England would win before the game! I think many people thought that England would win.)
Anyway, England kept being a top of group A and they advance to the final 16.
I hope that England will keep winning !
By the way, I had gone to the post office on Monday because of one reason.

As for ,England ...well we almost won..ha ha ..it seems that for years we have never beaten Sweden!!
It is good to win the group, but we have a lot of fittness and injury problems.
The English have been obsessed with gardens for ever! The Cotswolds has so much space and is mostly hills so almost every house has a garden of some kind. So the many large stately homes and manor houses had huge beautiful parks and gardens built, for somewhere to relax or to demonstrate the owners power or status.

yes , I know I am lucky to live in such a beautiful part of England..... the Cotswolds is really the name for a range of hills which create beautiful scenary.
These hills provided safe places to live in ancient times and many forts were built on top of the hills.
The hills were also a source of wood , stone and water so many settlements grew up in the areas around these hilltop forts and in the river valleys.
After the Romans came and built roads across the Cotswolds, many rich Lords etc. realised the beauty and isolation of the area and so built large homes ,castles and palaces around the Cotswolds.
They are not really the classic castles depicted in the wars and battles of the middle ages but large fortified homes. Here are some examples

yes Churchill was born and i believe buried at Blenheim Palace .
My brother lives in the same village as the Palace called Woodstock.
often Japanese coach tours pass through the Cotswolds but they only stay for one or two days.
They see some lovely villages but they don't have time to see all of the amazing places.

I think I love gardening because of my mother.
She has been enjoying gardening since I was born.
So she often go to the gardening shops.
Tonight, my mother looked at the books you sent me and she said to me she wants to go to Cotswolds at once!!!
(She loves England for a long time.But she hasn't been to England yet.
And she hopes that she will go to Spain.It is her hope since 2 years ago.)
